OPTICON Network: Future Astronomical Software Environments (FASE)

The OPTICON (Optical-Infrared Co-ordination Network for Astronomy) proposal was funded by the EU FP6. It contains a network (N3.6) for discussing requirements and specifications for a future environment for data analysis in astronomy. This TWiki was created to facilitate such discussions.

Requirements, Specifications and Design Specifications documents

  • MileStones list major achievements we want to accomplish
  • ActionList contains a list of open action to be done
  • EnvironmentDemos defines general objectives for prototypes of the environment
  • ImplementationPlan describes a possible plan for implementation of a system outlined on this TWiki.

General

  • GeneralDocuments gives references to related documents
  • UsefulReferences references and other material useful to the project
  • NetworkParticipants lists the official members of the network
  • ProjectName is where suggestions for a project name can be made
  • OpenOrganization discusses the need for creating an open organization to host documents and specifications made by this Network. Potential names are also considered.
