Please, enter any comments you may have just below the topic between the lines or if you want to have additional items discussed append them.
The list is more or less in order of priority (starting with the most important), however, this does not directly translate to a time-line of our activities.
Scope-0: Define a
VisionStatement which outlines the high level objectives of the present Network.
Scope-1: Outline typical
UserScenarios for doing data analysis of astronomical data.
Scope-2: Discuss reasons to create a new software environment for data analysis instead of just using available package (see
WhyNewEnvironment). Usage of open source and license free software in contrast to commercial products should also be considered (see
FreeOpenSourceOrCommercial).
Scope-3: List areas where a common environment would be not desirable and feasible
Scope-4: List good and bad experiences for current systems to learn of our errors and benefit of valuable features (see
LessonsLearned).
Scope-5: Define high level astronomical requirements for such a common environment (see
HighLevelRequirements).
Scope-6: Consider high level architecture and technical requirements for the environment
Scope-7: Specify standard interfaces between components within the environment and to applications outside
Scope-8: List both mandatory and optional services provided by the environment
Scope-9: Outline a development/deployment strategy
Scope-10: Identify relevant standards for adding new packages/modules to the environment. This may include considerations regarding project management, coding standards, documentation, and test procedures.
