Agenda and minutes
1 General information
-
- Status of OPTICON FP7 proposal
- Our proposal for the OPTICON application for EU FP7 funding was submitted on Jan. 30. OPTICON has acknowledged it and said it included all required information. Our proposal requests 60 kEUR for committee meetings and travel plus 2 FTE's for work on the standards over a 3 year period. OPTICON will submit the application to EC by the end of February. A decision is expected in the late fall.
- PG was contacted (through DP) by the Spanish software firm GMV which had provided comments to our high-level requirements. It has software contracts with ESA related to ground segments of several space missions and writes data processing software in Java and C++. PG saw this as a positive thing and recommended that we should start discussions with GMV on possible collaborations in case the OPTICON FP7 proposal is accepted. This could either be through the steering committee or parts of the prototype work. It is clear that no EC funds can be provided to GMV which may seek support from Spanish sources.
- High-level Requirements document
- After the face-to-face meeting, PG upgraded the high-level requirements document to version 0.99 and sent it out for final comments. Only few comment were received, all positive and with no further requests for changes. If no explicit change requests are received before Feb. 28, the first official version 1.0 will be issued by Feb. 29.
- Discussion on Interface specifications
- DT summarized the plans for the revision of architectural concept and interface specification documents (as agreed at the face-to-face meeting). He plan to upgrade the documents by April so they can be discussed in a subgroup. After some iterations through e-mail and phone, we consider to have a small meeting by end June to finalize the documents for internal review.
- News from prototype projects
- LP mentions that he would present some of the MiMa prototype work at a meeting in Rome. He expect to have some discussions with grid people.
- DT reported that work on the DALclient/server was continuing and that they also were in contact with the grid community.
- CS added that he expect that one student will start doing prototype work in Marseilles.
