Agenda and minutes

  1. General information
    • Next face-to-face meeting 2008-01-28/29
      • As discussed during last phone meeting, our next face-to-face meeting is fixed to 2007-01-28/29 in ESO Garching. The meeting will start in the late morning (~11:00) and finish early afternoon on Tuesday (~15:00) to allow people arriving just before the meeting.
      • The agenda will include topics such as final version of high-level requirements, review of architecture document, and discussion on interface standards required. PG will prepare a tentative agenda to by published on the TWiki early January (see actions).
    • Status on current work
      • Not much progress was done on high-level requirements and architecture document. PG will make the final revision of the high-level requirements before our face-to-face meeting so that it can be checked a final time there.
      • LP reported on the Milan-Marseilles prototype. They have revised the parameter model significantly and split data entities and parameter sets in their UML model. Interfaces have been generated from the UML model and first tests are under way. The prototype will be discussed at our face-to-face meeting. Description of the new parameter model is available here.
  2. Possible FP7 proposal
    • Draft proposal etc.
      • At the official deadline for submitting suggestions to OPTICON for its FP7 proposal, it was clear the ESO would be willing to participate in a steering committee but no provide any support for actual work on standards. Thus, it was indicated to OPTICON that we possibly would submit a proposal but changes would have to be made. An extension of the deadline was given.
      • After many discussions it was decided to go ahead with a proposal even without significant ESO support. PG would still be PI while Milan and Marseilles would perform most of the actual work. Several minor modification were discussed and will be implemented in the text.
      • A final phone meeting is planned tomorrow with BG, CS, DT and PG to finalize the proposal after which it will be submitter to OPTICON.
  3. Actions
