Agenda and minutes

1. General information
   • Face-to-face meeting at ADASS'07
     • Due to limited space it will be difficult to arrange a full meeting on Sunday. It was decided to have an unofficial get-together after the last tutorial on Sunday. There will be a short official face-to-face meeting on Monday 2007-09-24 at 14:00-15:15 in the Small Hall. An e-mail announcement will be send (see action).
     • Since only 4 BoF's could be arrange, our proposed BoF did not get scheduled.
2. High-level requirements
   • Revision of Requirements document
     • Unfortunately, no progress was made due to work on the FP7 proposal. PG ensured that an effort will be made soon.
3. Possible FP7 proposal
   • Draft proposal - OPTICON Mid-Term meeting
     • PG reported that preliminary documents associated to the OPTICON mid-term review meeting suggest that the FP7 proposal current only includes a continuation of our work as a Network. Thus, a 2-page summary of a open standards proposal was made (see recent e-mail e-mail). It is assumed that North America and Europe would participate in the standards efforts with equal resources.
     • The summary was discussed in detail. PL suggests to clarify the resources requested in a table. DT emphasized that the results would be a set of standards some developed in collaboration with VO. It was agree to revised the proposal after a short period for comments (i.e. before Thursday Aug. 23). After this, PG will submit it to the ESO representative in OPTICON and ask to have the issue raised at the next executive meeting with the hope to have a re-assessment of the FP7 proposal related to our Network. This would also prompt a more direct response from the ESO management which in any case is important for future actions. A preliminary discussion within OPTICON may take place at the mid-term meeting.
