Phone Meeting 2005-04-28 14:30 UT

Participants: KlausBanse, BiancaGarilli, PerryGreenfield, PrebenGrosbol, RichardHook, PeterLinde, PalleMoller, KlausReinsch, DanielPonz, MarkoUllgren, DougTody

Agenda and minutes

  1. General information
    • Odd people registering
      • Looking on the people who have registered one sees some odd entries. There may be a security issue which have to be checked (see action).
  2. Next face-to-face meeting
    • Decide dates for next face-to-face meeting (see PollMeetingDates)
      • There was a small majority for the end of June dates. Thus, the next face-to-face meeting was fixed to June 23/24, 2005, at ESO Headquarters. As some only were available on June 23, it was considered to start the meeting already in the morning that day. The final decision will be made at next phone meeting where the tentative agenda will be discussed in detail.
    • Discussion on tentative agenda
      • A main topic would be a final discussion on the requirements. In addition we need to discuss architecture including detailed design, interfaces and parameter model (see action).
  3. Requirements
    • Discussion on HighLevelRequirements for data visualization
      • BG had detailed requirement on visualization. There was a discussion on whether or nor the visualization tool also should be available as a stand alone tool. It was felt that that was very useful. One should also foresee that several different display tools could be used so that different users could use their favorite.
      • The data picking requirement was important as it demands a two way communication to the display e.g. request data close to cursor and return of the values.
    • Who would like to participate in the more detailed discussions of requirements?
      • We need to prepare a more detiled list of requirements for a final discussion at the June meeting. To do this efficiently a smaller group should work on it with a possible start end May or early June (see action).
    • Requirement analysis by MarkoUllgren
      • Due to a delay in approving the fase e-mail most people did only see the analysis a few days ago. Thus, a detailed discussion was not possible. Comments should be posted on the fase list.
  4. Architecture
    • Minimum container-component interface (ref. fase e-mail)
      • DT pointed out that the data access (2b) not formally is a part of the container interface although it's important. It will be move to another section of framework interfaces.
    • Top-level requirements for Execution Framework (ref. fase e-mail)
      • It was agreed that the requirements were compatible with the architecture. Any further comment should be made on the fase list.
    • Levels of environment/framework implementations (ref. fase e-mail)
      • It was felt useful to have a level scheme for implementing the environment although it should be refined (comments on fase list).
    • Progress on parameter model?
      • Due to time pressure (DT), it will be difficult to continue the discussion on the parameter model before mid-June. It is an important issue and it would be good to have the discussion at the June meeting prepared (see action).
  5. Actions
    • Status of open actions (see ActionList)
    • Summary of new actions (see below)
  6. Time for next phone meeting
    • Suggestion: 2005-05-24 14:30 UT (16:30 CET)
  7. Any other business

Please add what I forgot and correct my errors.
