- General information
- New e-mail list fase@eso.org
- The new e-mail list was created and will be used for our technical discussions while the old list on36@eso.org will be for administrational matters only. All members of the network were added to the new list.
- ESO/Finnish project
- It is going forward and will start officially on 2005-01-01. The ESO project manager is R. Hook which a science advisory group will be chaired by P. Moller When the project starts, I will propose to have both as members of the Network.
- JEMAN handout
- The final version of the our JENAM 2004 handout has now been placed on GeneralDocuments
- ADASS meeting
- Discussion on AdassPoster2004
- There were a long discussion on the draft of the poster. The section 'Open vs. Licensed ...' was removed while the Scope was reduced and merged into other sections. The sections 'Why a New ...' and 'High Level Requirements' were moved to the top. A number of other minor changes were also done. A revised version will be made by Wedensday whereas the actual poster will be printed Thursday (see GeneralDocuments and AdassPoster2004).
- Tentative agenda for BoF session
- There will be a BoF on Future Software Environments at ADASS on Monday Oct. 25 in the evening chaired by PrebenGrosbol and DougTody. The agenda will start with a number of short talks on recent projects like OPTICON, VO, ALMA/NRAO, ESO/Finnish, Python/STScI, Grid Computing and AstroGrid after which the will be a general discussion.

- The draft agenda was briefly discussed. Suggestions are welcome. We will finalize it by mid-November. People who plan to come should e-mail pgrosbol@eso.org before 2004-11-08 with their intention so we can get an overview of the number of participants and the level of support we can give.
- To make the discussion on requirements and architecture as efficient as possible, it is essential that written draft proposal are available before the meeting (see actions).

- DanielPonz asked on the status on the parameter discussion including considerations on including errors and units. DougTody summarized and said that he found the discussion very useful. One should consider to extend the input parameter concept to general parameter exchange between tasks in which case also errors and units would be important.
Please add what I have forgotten and correct my errors.
