Areas where the common environment would not be desirable and/or feasible

1. Operational environment with very specific requirements on performance, functionality or security. These specific project requirements may go beyond the capabilities provided by the common environment. Areas affected could be real time subsystems or pipeline components, related to concrete telescopes or instruments on board of a satellite.
2. Embedded systems requiring capabilities or interfaces not provided by the common environment, for which extending the environment itself would require a too high investment in terms of time and/or cost.
